The Maharashtra Public Service Selection Commission releases the advertisement exams for the appointment of the eligible aspirants in the state services and other administrative services of Maharashtra Government.  Interested candidates get more details related as eligibility and exam pattern for the preparation of written exam.

Written Exam pattern:

The contenders will be required to appear in the following exams for being considered under the offered posts by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission. These are: Preliminary Examination- 200 Marks, Main/ Written Examination -800 Marks and Interview/ Personality Test -100 Marks respectively.

Syllabus of Exam:

Prelims Exam:

There will be two compulsory papers of two hours duration containing objective type question papers in Marathi and English language. The aspirants will have to qualify in both the papers for qualifying in the Preliminary Examination. The paper will contain questions of objective type from the degree level / Class X level /Class XII level as per the level of post for which application has been made by the applicant.

 

The aspirants who qualify in the Prelims Exam will be only allowed to appear in the Mains Exam held subsequently after the Prelims Exam for all the eligible contestants.

Main Exam:

As per the new and revised exam scheme, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission conducts the Main Exam through four papers of the General Studies and two compulsory papers of Marathi and English respectively. The candidates will have to qualify in all the six papers for cracking the Mains Examinations of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission.

The Compulsory Papers of Marathi and English Language is based on Descriptive Type questions and the other papers of general studies contains objective type questions.

  •  Total Marks: 800 Marks
  • Compulsory Marathi Paper (100 Marks)
  • Compulsory English Paper (100 marks)
  • General Studies Paper I (History & Geography) 150 Marks
  • General Studies Paper II (Indian Constitution & Politics) 150 Marks
  • General Studies Paper III (Human Resource Development & Human Rights) 150 Marks
  • General Studies Paper IV (Economics and Science & Technology) 150 Marks
  • The contenders will be considered qualified for the Mains on obtaining 45% marks under the General Category and 40% marks for all other category of candidates.
